Hamilton Walk.

Established by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics NUI Maynooth, the Annual Hamilton Walk on the 16th October commemorates the most famous event in Irish Mathematics . It was on this day in 1843 on the banks of the Royal Canal that Hamilton famously created a new system of numbers called Quaternions.
